Hey Long keel...
what make you say that? on a daily basic they don't usually know what positions are available, and on top of that the bid is not even closed...
So how would they/you/your finger know?
I am not trying to argue, I am just wondering , where your litle finger get his impression from??

It is well known within the training departments... There is a big backlog of Embraer pilots to be line checked, sim's, etc. Many new hires are here 7 months before line flying. They won't fix this problem with more new hires on the Embraer, additionally they can only hire into the PG. This leaves the RP positions for the next two FOM courses. Hopefully by then the Embraer will be caught up, and the following courses will have many first officer positions. AC needs the second sim in YYZ six months ago, their training plan doesn't work with the available global space on Embraer sims.

In the end the best job is the first number available. We'll see if my Kreshkin routine is correct next month. :idiot2:

Anyone know how long recently, on average, it is from interview, medical and assorted other tests to either hired or PFO? I know some guys have been months before they got their letter but I was wondering how long the guys that got hired had to wait. Its been almost a month and the suspense is killing me!!

Bc flyer,
for myself and a few others it was 4 weeks, but I talk to some guys who waited less.... and some months. As you may be aware, your position changes in the pool, if a better candidate shows up, then he will be offered a course before you....

break break...

This is really getting interresting, and this EMJ is really creating some movement, as well as the 777 and the 787, it looks like there will be a bit of choice, in the next few years...just a matter of avoiding the freeze!!!!

I think you guys are putting too much thoughts into that....
Just read your post, what day does AC call?
is this a real question, I know it is frustrating to wait, but you were called for an interview, you did your best... so that' s great, just live your life normally, and carry on with your current job, consider yourself lucky, and I am sure you will get your call when it is meant to be....
You should remember that it could take months to get the call....

you are just torturing yourself...I know it is easy for me to say.. but some of you seem to be going ...coucou
Also, for your own info I am not trying to discourage you... but there are still a lot of backlog and they are taking guys on to do their first 2 weeks and then they are sending them home for 2 months with a salary, so I would not be surprised if they slow down/delay...the next few GS..just something for you to keep in mind, I don't have any real info on that but, it is just the feeling I had from the Manager of training..

Honestly for you all and myself, I wish they hire 40 a month...
So just chill and enjoy the weather...

Of interest, when Equipment Bid 06-01 closes later this month, Flight Operations will increase its monthly intake of new-hires to between 30 and 40 over the next 12 to 16 months. The hiring staff is currently processing 80 candidates monthly.

In my class,
93% had university or college diploma but the majority had uni.

93% relates to 1 out of all of us did not have it, but lot of hours heavy Jet.

93%, thats funny I heard there weren't more than 10 in your class. Or do you count the uni's and the diplomas and give everyone a chance for two and then do the math?

Anyhow, I heard (not that this means anything), that they really like some kind of post secondary education. So 93 some odd percent plus or minus a few would be fairly accurate. Popo, how do you sit on this new bid that has come out. Capt on the 170's or are you really gonna hang out in the back. Good luck bro

Bohica, i hate it when it comes again, but getting very use to it!!!
