I believe they were both sold and the pilots were offered jobs on the twin otters/turbo beavers??

Well, to be fair, on the KAs we use for medevac, there is a maximum patient circumference to fit through the door. And, the Premier kinda looks like a guy who never said no to a doughnut...

A quick Civil Aircraft Registrar search will show that they no longer have any. Looks like the two that were there are now at Northern Thubderchicken.

Nice low time bird… …but it’s showing its age in other ways now.

They were doomed the day Ford was elected. He refused to fly on them as it had the appearance of excess and Gov fiscal irresponsibility. As many governments have long since ditched corporate flight departments, he may have been on to something. Whenever I hear pilots speak about how little they work and how much they make I cringe and wonder if they know how precarious their employment maybe.

Actually the pilots made a stand to try and get the cockpits upgraded with a fancier one. Said they were unsafe to operate with what they had. They ended up parked for a couple of years with the pilots sitting at home on the payroll until it was decided they would be put up for sale. You don’t know what you have til it’s gone!

Doubt. There’s no way occasional ad hoc on even a G650 is going to touch salaries for half a dozen pilots on the Sunshine List. Never mind all of the added fixed costs of insurance, maintenance, etc and still having to charter planes when your King Air is unsuitable.

The Manager (who now runs the 415 program) claimed it was like the 737 MAX… the planes were not unsafe and are not unsafe.

The occasional charter? These planes ran all the time and were very busy in the summer. Having a plane that can move crews on a moment’s notice can be priceless.

You also might want to look at the sunshine list and type in the word “Pilot” and see how few are on the list and if they are they barely make over 110,000 unless they are very senior and pull a bunch of overtime. The pilots at the government who make the big bucks are the OPP PC-12 pilots. They pull 150-180, co-pilots have made 180,000. They work 2 on 2 off and some even have a second flying job.
