I remember that happening but never saw the footage on it. Has anyone on the forum ever found any footage on the first A 330 crashing in Toulouse on the test flight?

That was a tragic, yet totally avoidable scenario. We saw the full video during a Transport Canada safety seminar.

The pilot was demonstrating the capabilities of the aircraft (cant remember the name of it) at various airshows...and his wife always did the announcing.

In the full video you can hear her saying "watch the loops performed in this non-aerobatic aircraft..."

And then ta-da....Bob's yer uncle...

Remember kids, the wings will only clap once for effort. Thats all you get.

You can hear her screaming over the PA from when the wings fall off until far after he hits the ground. Its eerie and quite disturbing.

there was probably a big metal placard right next to the driver that reads in english no doubt 'this aircraft is not approved for aerobatic flight'
