How long should someone wait to reapply at WestJet?
Has anyone been successful the second time applying?

I know at AC they hand out the 2 PFOs. The one allows you to try again after 6 months, the other is a full FO.MortyBubba wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 7:41 amPFO’d after interview.QKZXKV wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 7:31 amAfter no response or after a PFO?MortyBubba wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 7:23 am How long should someone wait to reapply at WestJet?

I'd say after 6 months try again if you haven't gotten an indication that they don't want you to try again.

I know people that have been PFO’d twice from AC and gotten the job on subsequent applications.QKZXKV wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 7:48 amI know at AC they hand out the 2 PFOs. The one allows you to try again after 6 months, the other is a full FO.

The email said “Thank you for your interest. We decided to go with different candidates. We encourage you to check back for future career opportunities”
So that’s why I am curious when to reapply.

Re: Reapply
Go for it... it does ask in the application if you've been in the hiring process before. Worst they say is "no".MortyBubba wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 10:21 amThe email said “Thank you for your interest. We decided to go with different candidates. If they went with a different candidate, is your experience level on the lower side? How much experienced have you gained? Have they lowered their requirements?

Good point... if anything it's bound to be more competitive with a lot of Jazz draining oversarg wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 12:26 pmWhat's changed since you last applied?MortyBubba wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 10:21 amThe email said “Thank you for your interest. Re: Reapply
This doesn’t get considered nearly enough when these questions come up. If you’re not thinking about improving yourself after a PFO, what’s the alternative? “I hope they have lower standards next week”?
Reapply whenever, but consider the following:
-upgrade at your current company
-join your company’s training department
-go fly in a more challenging environment elsewhere
You know, self improvement. Then at the next interview don’t say negative things about anything, just in case it’s actually your personality holding you back.

We ask that you wait 6 months from your interview date prior to reapplying and many are successful on subsequent attempts.MortyBubba wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 7:23 am How long should someone wait to reapply at WestJet?

Re: Reapply
The above comments are great points.
Airlines will call you if you meet the minimum requirements because well those are their requirements. In this environment they are not going go spend two hours interviewing someone they have no intention of hiring.
Take some time to reflect on the questions they asked, the answers you provided and where you may have gone wrong. If you received the invite with hours near their minimum requirements there is also a chance they felt your answers reflected that.

I think in your case it would seem they didn't like something about your interview, with those hours.MortyBubba wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 1:56 am6000TT with around 4000 of which is 705 flying, with 2500 MPICJungleRiot wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 6:17 pmim just curious, what kind of time and expérience do you have?MortyBubba wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 7:23 am How long should someone wait to reapply at WestJet?

Lots of fantastic points here. Lownslow is bang on, you can reapply but definitely find ways to show you've grown since your last try, That's what they want to see!

Don’t sweat it. PFOs happen. Also, things happen for a reason. It just hasn’t manifested itself why yet. Try again in a few months. Meanwhile, tons of others hiring.MortyBubba wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 2:54 pmThank you everyone for the responses. Must of been something I said during the interview.
