Hey everyone, the forum has been pretty dead lately, especially for YUL so I thought I'd make this so we can track who's also waiting.

What string did you choose during the interview? I chose IFR and got standby for it and VFR offers have also went out.

I’m not sure how about your preference your really influences what they offer you. Seems many people get offers or standby for their 2nd or 3rd choice

Also, i had explicitely stated i wanted IFR and that was what i got! I rly think they take your preference into consideration

I preferred VFR, hoping they still have some offers left to be sent. Does anyone know how likely it is to not get an offer even if you're eligible? Like roughly?

From what I've been told on the phone, the fall 2023 and winter 2024 classes were already filled up before we got the results in june. They are looking to open up an extra class in winter, but its still a maybe, so they're holding on the offers until its confirmed.

Sharing some info I saw on Reddit

The persons timeline:
Application: February 2023
Feast: unknown
Interview: June 7th
Eligible for offer: June 27th
Offer: Sept 8th

The person applied in YUL FIR with IFR as preference and was offered a VFR course at YOW in March 2024.

Looks like some movement is coming, please reply your status with timeline. I'm gonna try to keep the YUL thread as active as possible.

Thank you! They may still have some standby offers for January but I assume the course is full. I know the other date that I saw on here was for a March VFR course in Ottawa. No news other than that. Best of luck to you, and I'll make sure to keep everyone updated.

Glad to hear from you Bootleg, I was slightly hoping someone had already dropped and you had gotten in so that I could take your standby spot haha. Unfortunate to know that isn't the case. Best of luck to you in getting into the course. At the very least I think it can give us a certain peace of mind that if it isn't January we're almost guaranteed a spot at a future date. I assume...

Just to let you know the fall recruitment at YUL finished in late November with result emails being sent out in mid-December. There were only two interview days, so perhaps not very many new applicants were added to the eligible pool, which is good for your chances for the next set of courses.
