YVR post-interview offers
Has anyone received a training offer from YVR after the round of interviews on end of july/beginning of aug.? Or is anyone currently waiting for one?

My status changed to eligible for offer Thursday morning.
Is that where you are at as well?

Yes that is exactly my situation currently. It seems like offers may not have gone out yet for those in this round of interviews.Aviation1855 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 4:51 pm My status changed to eligible for offer Thursday morning.

Yeah it sounds like it.
Did they tell you when VFR courses were starting next year during your interview process?

Re: YVR post-interview offers
From what I can recall, there would be multiple classes running from the start of next year up to fall2024 and beyond that we may be considered for. I don't believe they mentioned individual course start dates for VFR/IFR.Aviation1855 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 12:16 pm

Yeah I recall them saying that they were trying to move quickly. Keep this forum updated if and when you get a training offer!

That seems to be the case with recent interview for YVR as far as I've heard. When was your interview?

hey, nothing yet for me unfortunately. I've been scanning reddit here and there as well and haven't heard of YVR offers going out recently. Was it on r/ATC?Aviation1855 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 6:47 pm Any news for anyone yet? I haven't heard anything but looks like a few offers went out that I seen on reddit
Re: YVR post-interview offers
I've heard nothing yet. People talk of a 2-3 year onboarding process, which is a bit concerning. At that point, I'll be pretty deep into another career, and then taking a paycut down to 45k/year (especially hard in Vancouver lol) with a 30% success rate in training is a pretty huge gamble (I applied for IFR). If I wash out of ATC training, I'd be in a pretty precarious spot career-wise. If one is successful in training, the salary and job would make it all worthwhile, but the risks associated with failure are pretty indimidating to me. Do you folks have backup plans? Or are you all in?

Yes on r/ATC. There was a post where a guy said he interviewed Aug 1st, and got a call a few days after his status changed to eligible for offer. He got offered a standy offer for IFR early next year, indicating IFR is already full upsteelman_25 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 10:20 pmhey, nothing yet for me unfortunately. typical time to class date from first application: about half a year to a year for most people I know

Re: YVR post-interview offers
i think that IFR class primarily consists of those who interviewed before July/August rounds as well. Maybe they were only able to select one or two to add onto the standby from this round?Aviation1855 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 8:35 amYes on r/ATC.
