Hi guys. Im South American pilot that decided to train in the US to become a pilot. I have my CPL ASEL&AMEL IR with my flight instructor licenses (CFI-I MEI) and have around 1200 hours. After finishing the training I came back to South America and decided to validate my FAA license, I’m in the process of doing that. The problem is that they are few opportunities here in the aviation field and I’m looking for options in Canada. My plan is to enroll in a 4 year program for a BS, get my Canadian instructor license and work (if possible) during those 4 years. After that I guess I will be eligible for a post graduate work permit so I can work in any aviation related job. Is that possible? Any university that offers that type of course for Int students?
Thank you!
Best Aviation University to get a BS as an Int student?

I'm not too familiar with how the post graduate work permit works, but does your schooling have to be in an aviation field to work in aviation when you graduate? If not, maybe taking a 2 year diploma in a trade that can be a good backup in case of downturns in aviation may be a better option. Currently in Canada trades like Plumbers and Electricians make a lot more money than introductory pilot jobs. If your studies have to be in Aviation, with your experience, it might make more sense to take a 2 year aviation diploma program and work on converting your FAA license to Canadian while studying here. There's plenty of two year programs for AME jobs that you could do and that would be more useful/interesting for your career in my opinion than a 4 year BSc in Aviation. Just some food for thought and my 5 cents.

Thank you for answering. I did some research and the PGWP is an open work permit! What is the best place in Canada to do flight training? Based on weather, living costs, etc..

No problem, cool!
You'll get a lot of different answers to that question on here and there's many threads/discussions on avcanada you can read through to get some insight on that. In my opinion it comes down more to your personal situation in terms of where you want to live in Canada/what kind of lifestyle you are looking for. Once you figure out where you want to live, you can find reputable flight schools in pretty much every province/territory.
