In Pompano beach FL yesterday an EC 135 suffered an in flight engine failure followed by fire. On the way back to the airport the tailboom seperated from the fire and it crashed into an apartment block. Somehow the pilot and 1 of the 2 back seat crew climbed out of the wreak onto the roof of the building. 1 person in the building died along with the 3rd crew member.

Quite a few videos going around of the helicopter going down. Amazing to read that anyone survived at all.

Biggest thing we got out of swissair111 was "get it on the ground asap" the story makes it out to be he continued after a fire. I know it was an urban area but there had to be a flat roof or intersection to put it in
