How to unsubscribe from WestJet spam?
I took one flight 2 years ago and the emails have never stopped. Hitting unsubscribe conveniently returns an error message for the last 2 years.

Yeah, as I mentioned above that doesn't work. It's alright though. I've already reported this to the Government of Canada because apparently it's illegal to not have a functioning unsubscribe method now.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 1:43 pmScroll down to the bottom of the email and click "Unsubscribe"...Daniel Cooper wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 10:54 am I took one flight 2 years ago and the emails have never stopped. Open the link again. Did you check all of the boxes or uncheck them?Daniel Cooper wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 3:53 pm Yeah, as I mentioned above that doesn't work. It's alright though. The government does care a lot. They passed legislation specifically about this kind of thing. They even setup a pretty good website for reporting violations. If OP used that site it will be investigated and WestJet could be fined.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 8:50 pm If it's really bugging you, block them. Re: How to unsubscribe from WestJet spam?
I have no problem reaching the unsubscribe management page from the unsubscribe link in the WestJet marketing emails and making changes to my preferences (as @dontcallmeshirley also mentioned above) it is probably a case that the OP has some form of pop-up blocker or misconfigured device that doesn’t bring up the appropriate browser, as opposed to any WestJet issue.

Re: How to unsubscribe from WestJet spam?
I just unsubscribed with no problem. I don't think your complaint to the Government of Canada is going to go very far. It might make a civil servant put their coffee down for 2 minutes though.
Re: How to unsubscribe from WestJet spam?
It's probably because you have a WestJet account logged in. I can confirm the unsubscribe link function does not work unless you sign up for an account.aerobod wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2023 7:01 am I have no problem reaching the unsubscribe management page from the unsubscribe link in the WestJet marketing emails and making changes to my preferences (as @dontcallmeshirley also mentioned above) it is probably a case that the OP has some form of pop-up blocker or misconfigured device that doesn’t bring up the appropriate browser, as opposed to any WestJet issue.

Re: How to unsubscribe from WestJet spam?
No, as you can see from the screen shot I’m not logged in (the “Sign In” link is present). It is just presenting preferences based on the tokenized URL in the email unsubscribe link, that is tied to your email address, you don’t need to be logged in to a Rewards account to change the preferences:FL030 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2023 12:45 pmIt's probably because you have a WestJet account logged in.
