WestJet Cargo
Is there a dedicated group of pilots that fly freighters or is a part of bid package that anyone can bid for?
Are they dedicated cargo pairings or mix cargo one day and passengera the next day?

Re: WestJet Cargo
WestJet Cargo is flown by WestJet pilots. The pairings can be mixed, but each day is only pax or only cargo.

Re: WestJet Cargo
Virtually all the flights seem to get cancelled. If they’re on your schedule then you’re gonna be given something out of the reserve pile as your cargo flight has maybe a 10% chance of happening. I highly suspect the cargo operation might be wrapped up soon. Another WestJet success story.

You say that, but they continue to send aircraft out for conversion.Canadaflyer46 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 3:23 pm Virtually all the flights seem to get cancelled. If only the pilots had agreed to work for a little bit less, then the cargo venture could have been more successful!Canadaflyer46 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 3:23 pm Virtually all the flights seem to get cancelled. See? Total failure as they couldnt save .06% on labour. Had to capture it, just as with genital crabs.NotDirty! wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 7:46 pmIf only the pilots had agreed to work for a little bit less, then the cargo venture could have been more successful!Canadaflyer46 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 3:23 pm Virtually all the flights seem to get cancelled. Hopefully they remember to put two FMCs in this time.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 4:36 pmYou say that, but they continue to send aircraft out for conversion.Canadaflyer46 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 3:23 pm Virtually all the flights seem to get cancelled. They'll bring back the eyebrow windows and sextants if they thought it'd save them 50 cents.
Re: WestJet Cargo
Does Onex still own 50% of BBAM Aircraft Leasing? Put the conversions and trials on WestJet's bill and sell them on to other customers.

I wouldn’t count WestJet Cargo out yet…WestJet has sunk a lot of time, money and effort into this venture. Can’t see them folding it up in the near future.

Re: WestJet Cargo
Now apparently doing runs out of Newark to Bermuda as a wet-lease for Cargojet.

Re: WestJet Cargo
If it's anything like the last contract flying LAX-Mexico City at 2am virtually every flight will be canceled. Guys have been bidding for them because there's only a 10% chance you'll actually go. Cargo at WJ is a joke, they were 2 years too late to the party.
Re: WestJet Cargo
This ones actually half decent. Flight there is always 8:45 am. Return flight 7pm.
