Post merger training?

Post by MaxAuto »

What would be the training outline for Swg pilots? Would it be a full course as if we new hires?

Depends. Will WG operate separately from WS? Will WG fold into WS and assume it's operational structure?

I would assume that there would be an operational merger between the two companies that will progress over a year or two where the AOMs and FOMs of each company will be reviewed and combined. For the most part, this is beyond the scope of the union and will fall mostly on the airline management.

My bet is that the WS procedures will reign and WG pilots will be trained to the WS standard.

You haven't been keeping up with news. SW pilots are all becoming WJ pilots. SW Airlines will no longer exist after October 2024 if things go according to the planned timeline.

My question is for those who may be familiar with the regulatory requirements regarding a merger of pilots onto another AOC.

Your PPC is only valid for the company it was issued for, if the SW AOC no longer exists, it usually requires a transportability of a PPC type of training. This transportability training is an approved training program which I’m sure training ops is already working on, it’s not usually a full initial course, some type of hybrid culminating in a PPC using the new SOPs.
