IFR question

Post by bcqc »

Say I'm a cat B a/c not meeting climb gradient and I still want to depart. I check the spec vis, I need 1 1/2 sm vis to comply. Now the operator has and ops spec saying you can depart below landing minima, do you depart on that spec vis below landing minima?

thanks for the help, little confusion here...
anyone good with these for BC airports?

If weather meets the spec vis criteria but is still below landing minima, you can still depart as long as it is authorized in your ops manual. You'll need a take-off alternate along with some other conditions dependent on the type of operator you are.
