Do a good Exterior Inspection After a Hard Landing
I remember we had an aircraft do several flights after a tailstrike. Best to do a more thorough than usual walkaround after a hard or unusual landing......
C-GXTB, a Pilatus PC-12 Aircraft operated by North Star Air Ltd. was conducting an IFR flight from
Keewaywin Airport (CPV8), ON to Round Lake Airport (CZRJ), ON. During the landing on Runway
03 at CZRJ, the aircraft bounced and landed hard on the nose gear. A visual inspection by the
pilots of the main wheels and nosewheel indicated that all appeared normal without damage. The
aircraft was flown to Thunder Bay Intl. Airport (CYQT) ON and after further inspection, it was
noticed that the landing gear and all four blades of the propeller were damaged.
The operator's maintenance performed a hard landing inspection along with replacing the engine,
propeller and numerous landing gear components.

No thanks. Already married. And, I'm no oil painting.
Good judgment comes from experience. Experience often comes from bad judgment.

Bold of you to assume I wanted to take you to dinner. I would’ve dm’d.
On another note, knowing how new or old these accidents are sure would be nice.

Usually within a week or two, occasionally more than a month.

I too find it hard to believe that the crew prior to further flight performed their own visual inspection… *cough cough* and didn’t see “any damage”… or they really put her in on the return leg!newlygrounded wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 9:17 pmhow much would a new engine and prop run on that? Anyone know what the story is behind the other NSA Pilatus incident in Kasibonika?
