Jazz courses in the next few weeks

Post by 320Airbus »

Anyone knows how many pilots Jazz plan to hire in the next few months? Any ideas when the next courses will be?

My understanding is every third Monday commensurate with the above dates.

That's how it has been since May 2022, and nothing on the horizon indicating that will change.

YYZ. Hotel/transportation/per diems provided. SIM in YYZ or YVR. Hotel/transportation/per diems provided.

Each third Monday would be 17 classes in 2024.

20@class would be 340 hired in 2024. It won’t be 20 for every class. It wasn’t 20 for every class in 2023. And even with 20 hired, typically not all 20 will remain at Jazz for 12 months.

If it ends up at 15 per class (or 15 remaining due to new-hire attrition or shortfall in assigning 20 per class) then it will be 255 pilots added in 2024.

Total Jazz pilot attrition in 2024 will exceed 255 unless AC decides to stop flow. And if AC stops flow, many Jazz pilots will just go elsewhere.

SIM as in recurrent training or the sim eval?

If nothing changed they should be offering GS dates starting in March now

I’m curious as to the experience levels in recent or coming classes. Would anyone in these past classes or coming ones care to shed a light?

For sure. I was hired in Nov 2023.

In my class of 14:
1 ATPL
2 with former 705 xp (no ATPL)
3 fresh out of school through pathways program
The rest (8) of us flew other jobs, such as instructing, surveying, 703s, etc. and in the ballpark of 600-1200 hours

I've got friends who have been hired and have slots in Q1 2024 ground school classes. If you meet the requirements and have 500TT+ you're likely to get an interview and sim eval.

Which dates are your friends scheduled in Q1?

Also do you remember from which school the 3 were?

Thanks

No Prob,
I've got a couple buddies in the March 11 class.

As for the schools, I think one was WWFC, one was out west, and one was somewhere in Quebec

Any known reason why Jazz doesn’t hire much more experience applicants?

Yea I know why.

It’s cuz you’re blacklisted. Like I’ve told you 500 other times.
