Flair had 4 planes seized. Now, it comes out they owe $67 million in taxes. Don’t think AC needs those a/c that badly.
Flair Airlines owes more than $67M in unpaid taxes: report
A new report says Flair Airlines owes more than $67 million in unpaid taxes. As reported by the Globe and Mail, Ottawa has obtained a court...

Completely backwards. Flair and Lynx are merging and then they're buying Air Canada. AC pilots going BOTL.

Would you recommend taking a job at AC if your goal is to make it into Flair and getting a seniority nr at Flair asap?

Lynx/Flair merger won't be surprising.

Why would Lynx want to ‘merge’ with Flair at this point? Given the news out of Edmonton a few days ago, a better option for Lynx might be to stand back, and pick up the pieces in a couple of months - without any of the liabilities attached.
I hope for my friends at Flair that this isn’t the case!

Big changes coming to the Canadian Aviation scene this year....Lynx Flair merger imminent, AC in talks with both to buy them as a group once merger is completed. Stay tuned.
Fake news. AC will not be buying them as a group or as separate entities.

The company name will be "Flinx" and the call sign will be "Flauntless".

Rick Flair will be the mascott and every transmission will include a WOOOOOOO! Then once AC buys the whole shooting match, the new call sign with be "Flair Canada" and the US spin off will be "Flair America"!

Ric Flair and airplanes aren't really a good fit and would probably be a PR nightmare. But that does seem to be a recurring theme with Flair Airlines so maybe they are a match made in Hell.
(That's a joke; lighten up, Francis)

For those of us that aren't subscribed, here's the body of the link posted (copied from the Flair forum):
Dear readers,
Two small Canadian ultra-low-cost carriers are in advanced merger discussions, and the deal could be announced within weeks, two sources told The Airline Observer.
Flair, an airline part-owned by Miami private equity firm 777 Partners, would absorb Lynx, which is backed by Canadian investors and Bill Franke's Indigo Partners, according to the sources. Franke has been serving as chairman of Lynx’s board.
Lynx has nine Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, Transport Canada records show. Flair has 18 Max 8s and two Boeing 737-800s.
The airlines operate similar route structures: popular Canadian routes (both fly Toronto to Vancouver) as well as routes from Canada to the United States, with an emphasis on Sunbelt markets. While Flair has a sizable international network in Mexico and the Caribbean, Lynx’s first Canada-Mexico route is slated to begin next week: Toronto to Cancun.
Representatives from Flair and Lynx did not respond to my requests for comment on Wednesday.1

Lynx posted an internal memo saying it's just speculation but I wouldn't be surprised if it still happens.
