Hypothetical: RCAF or Tier III

Post by Sideshow »

Ok assuming one had the option of choosing between the Military and going for a AC Tier III job which would you choose? I guess I don't have to ask why cuz lots of opinions will come out...

Do a little more research; if you want to join the RCAF you first have to travel back to 1968. Thats the last year the Air Force existed under that name.

If you have 8 years to put aside and don't mind not touching a A/C for the first four years then then CAF is the way to go.

I don't get the "other job" part, sort of implies Air Canada or other Legacy carrier, I'd drop that part off.....

Anyways,

CMA/Bear vs CAF....

Assuming in the hypothetical situation you do manage to get onto a fixed wing...

I think the Herc driver making 80k+(right seat) a year is probably a better gig vs the CMA top years of service paycheque for the captain.

LOL, getting your PPL, CPL, IFR, etc, and then working the ramp to touch an aircraft hopefuly.... Think, depending on which year you get in and what wave you catch 8 years might be what it takes to get to the right seat at CMA for example. Last year, before we picked up in the industry didn't buffalo have 3 year ramp vets??

I added the "Other" option in case someone had a better alternative to those mentioned. People are voting for it, I'd like to know what they think the other/better options are...

Air Canada, Cathay, Emirates would beat your tier 3...

185 or Beaver on floats would beat the tier III as well

Probably AC, CP or Em. too

All in the opinion, I guess

Ok maybe I need to be more specific. AC etc would be better, but I'm thinking of a job that would require similar requirements.

Beaver on floats is a good idea
