Reserve or line to start?

Post by Me262 »

With Encore's social system (is that what's it called?), will you most likely have to start on reserve as it's with Jazz or you have a really good chance to start with a line as it's with Pasco/CMA?

Encore is true socialized bidding where the shit is spread around.

All pilots get mixed blocks where the scheduling software will attempt to get the highest score using everyone's bid. You can bid to avoid reserve, but YMMV.

To answer your question, you USUALLY start on the line if you bid against reserve. If you want reserve you will get it. Eventually, the socialized bidding system since it's based on points will give you something crap. Right now tho, because of the extreme amounts of first officers, most FOs are getting 2 blocks of reserve and 1 MAYBE 2 pairings. Or maybe even less

In summary, typically you will get to fly on the line right away, it's just a bad example of that happening right now. This is due to the slower season, lack of pilots (captains) and finally abundance of FOs
