Can anyone tell me what the process is for changing the registration of an aircraft you own? My club's 172 is going in for paint and we're debating changing the marks while it's being done. I've been trying to find the process for this but everything on TC's website is about registering after purchase or cancelling for export. The CARs aren't especially helpful, at least in what I've been able to find. 202.04 (3) simply says "On receipt of a request to change marks, the Minister shall permit the change if the owner continues to meet the requirements of these Regulations."
I know I need a new C of A and C of R but how to go about the whole thing is a bit of a black hole.

Did you check here? In section 4.0 - subsection 4.4. But maybe you've already read it and I'm bored so have nothing else to do but look up CARs.
I do know the II. Provider would be super helpful here for more info. At least they should be. But it's been a long time since I owned a 172. And def didn't change my marks although I super would today haha.
