This is a big company that does not pay well. They have a good CP but he cannot do anything about the pay.But over all if you want to work for low wages this is the company for you.Fox 3 wrote:I was wondering about this company as well. No one knows anything??

Not true. They pay pretty well and have a decent schedule. Good for time building as they fly a lot! New King Air 350 in CYYC. Caravan trying to be replaced by a King Air 200 in Whitecourt. Couple of Navajo's. CP is a good guy and will treat you fairly.P180 wrote:This is a big company that does not pay well. They have a good CP but he cannot do anything about the payFox 3 wrote:I was wondering about this company as well. Your joking right. This company is night and day compared with death-trap bagrun companies. Probably the highest paid fixed wing pilots in Canada for what there flying [single cessnas] My T4's there were always around 55K+ per diems on the Ho, working 20 on and 10 off. Only the odd survey company can beat them for $. They have just gotten into the King Air market with a YYC base, dont realy know what the pay is there. Airborne has a new CP and he's put everyone on salary. If the pilots at Airborne can show that other guys on similar eqiupment doing similar work are making more than the company will bump up there pay. So really the only problem is the stinking F#@$ing fixed wing industry.
Maintenance wise they are top notch. Housing is throught the roof in yzu.

I see there are some mixed reviews with this place, which is good. The pay doesn't sound to bad, as long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to live there...day to day stuff not necesarily housing.
FOX: I think housing everywhere is on the way up, likely cause of the energy sector boosting everything. Check your pm's.
thanks

I had an interview with them several months ago. It would have been for a Rainbow Lake 206 position, and the pay was $2300/month + $400/month northern living allowancs, plus, accomodations were provided. That's pretty high pay for a 206 job, if you ask me.

Out of Control wrote:P180- you must have had an interview with AES and did not get the job. AES is a top notch company. Don't start hacking a company that you do not know anything about. You make a complete ass of yourself, such as you just did.
If that company taught you everything you know I'd steer clear!!
BOOOOOOOOYAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never worked for AES, but I've worked with a lot of AES pilots on the rotary-wing side of the house. The only complaint that I heard from any of them was the amount of time on the road. The one guy that was making that complaint wasn't upset about the company or the rotation shcedule, just about being away from home.
Every single AES fling-wing pilot that I talked to said that they were treated well by the company.
This is also a company going places. They've essentially created their own market in the area of heli-portable well servicing. Nobody did it until they came along, and nobody offers anywhere near the services that they do.

Please don't tell my mother that I work in the Oilpatch...she still thinks that I'm the piano player at a whorehouse.

Good company!
Specialize in oil-patch helicopter operations, so fixed-wing is secondary. Last time I was in Whitecourt they had 6 choppers on the ramp...and one C-208B.
Their base in Whitecourt looks great, and all of their equipment looks clean and well kept. The people there that I've chatted to over the years all seem nice and professional.
There's a rumour going around CYYC that a large drilling company bought-into AES and is supposed to be picking-up two KA 350's and putting them on the OC. Assuming that they'll be running those birds out of YEG and YYC. (believe it when I see it though!)

They've probably already filled this position too.

They already have one flying out of CYYC! AES is a good company and anyone who goes to work or fly there will learn a lot, make some money, and have a good time doing it.greenwich wrote:Good company!
