I think it’s rather interesting how many contracts in this world are up for negotiation at roughly the same time. And most interestingly, how mad workers are at their employers.
Re: Boeing on Strike.
It's not that the renegots are coincidentally more frequent, they've always been going on- it's that they've previously been boring, business as usual, under the radar, with standard gains and conditions relative to the economy. Not newsworthy.
Now, with swift and rampant inflation, every employee group has found itself far behind on COL with their 2% increases, and rightfully demanding double digit increases, which is making waves in media. The companies are typically opposed to this despite executives enjoying the very same increases denied to workers. Hence the justified anger we're seeing everywhere.

I disagree. Ac did a 10 year contract, jazz…. 17 years. That’s insane.
Historically union contracts have been 3-5 years max. And with reopeners.
Now that their house of cards are tumbling… it’s becoming a thing.
Boring negotiations would have been fine, because they would have kept up with the jones’.
But they haven’t

I love this quote as a reaction to the Boeing strike.
As of this morning Boeing isn't making planes that nobody will buy
Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business
