KBM Aviation is an independently owned natural resources consulting firm based out of Northwestern Ontario, with a satellite office in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and Fredericton, New Brunswick. Based out of Thunder Bay International Airport with a fleet of 9 aircraft, KBM Flight Operations provides a variety of aviation services including:

Aerial Survey - providing LiDAR, Photo, and Geophysical surveys throughout North America.
Charter Services – servicing Northwestern Ontario and North Central USA.
Flight Training – providing all levels of fixed wing pilot licensing and ratings.
Aircraft Maintenance – AMO services providing a wide range of aircraft maintenance service in support of KBM flight operations and a selection of outside customers.

Based in Thunder Bay, and reporting to the PRM, the AME will be responsible for leading and supervising aircraft maintenance activities and personnel in accordance with Transport Canada regulations and Company policy and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities:
Direct supervision of Apprentice AME’s.
Ensures accurate aircraft maintenance paperwork.
Responsible for upkeep, and security of the hangar and company equipment.
Keeps current with Transport Canada regulatory requirements.
Fulfills the duties of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, and undertakes other related duties as assigned.
Leads by example demonstrating corporate values in an enthusiastic manner to achieve results individually and through team participation.
Identifies ways for continuous improvement of processes.
Coordination of maintenance activities completed away from base.
Must be willing to travel to repair or conduct inspections. Three to 4 times a year

Qualifications
Certification as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME, M1), together with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
Piston, Rolls Royce 250 and PT6 turbine engine experience.
Experience in maintaining Air Tractor, Cessna Caravan, Cessna 206, Beech King Air, Piper Navajo aircraft.
Experience in Structures
Superior organizational skills.
Avionic license is an asset.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency with MS Word, and Excel.
Experience with customer service and client communication.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills, including the ability to direct, motivate, evaluate and recognize staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others.
Competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Working conditions
Most of the time work is performed in heated shop space and occasionally, outside in changing weather conditions. Must wear appropriate PPE. Regional or overnight travel is required on occasion.
Normal work schedule: 40 hours per week, days.
