I'm in my 50s. I assume most people who apply to work in ATC are in their 20s.
Do you think there's any chance at all for me to be accepted into the training programme?
I have a CPL and briefly worked as a flight instructor over 10 years ago.
Is it not worth their time and money to take on someone my age?
Applying to ATC age limit?

Re: Applying to ATC age limit?
There is no upper age limit to be able to be hired at NavCanada. There are several people at my tower who started in their late-to-mid 30's and have been successful.
That being said, the company obviously wants to get a return on their investment for the time and cost it takes to train a controller. If you are already in your 50's, and the average retirement age is somewhere around 60, the company might not see the ROI where even if you applied today, it'll be 1-2 years before you're licensed and then realistically only be a controller for 5-10 years. All things being equal, they would probably rather give that coveted training seat to someone who would be in that job for 20+ years, not 5-10.
But, you can always apply and see what happens. Stranger things have happened.
