POSITION: Aircraft Technician
STATUS: Full-time Rotational (3-weeks on, 3-weeks off)
LOCATION: Iqaluit, NU
REPORTING TO: Manager, Maintenance
DATE AVAILABLE: Immediately
PAY RATE: Unlicensed: $24.08 to $35.73 per hour based on experience. Licensed: $35.99 to $48.25 per hour based on experience.

Position Description:

The Technician, Aircraft performs works under the supervision of an ACA and carries out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Boeing 737 and ATR aircrafts in accordance with manufacture maintenance manuals and industry standards.

This is a rotational position. 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off, 12-hour days, 7 days a week for the rotations. Your three weeks "on" will be based in Iqaluit, NU. Travel assistance and rotational accommodation are provided. The successful candidate can live anywhere in Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities
Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Perform work on aircraft and components as outlined by applicable Work Sheets, Forms, Work Orders, Special Bulletins and Procedures Manuals in conformity with accepted practices;
  • Perform work to the appropriate procedures manual utilizing approved methods and materials;
  • Responsible to the applicable Shift Supervisor for the assignment and performance of their work;
  • Familiarize with all procedures for maintenance, repairs to the aircraft and/or equipment they are requested to work on;
  • Perform aircraft reconfigurations as required by the operation;
  • Responsibly use and maintain company equipment;
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas;
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
  • High School diploma and be a graduate from an approved training program;
  • Two (2) years of previous experience an asset;
  • Previous experience / endorsed on a B737 considered an asset;
  • Eligible to obtain a Transport Canada AME License;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • Must have excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Must possess superior interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external customers;
  • Must possess an ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment;
  • Must be able to obtain and retain an AVOP;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut a definite asset;
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
