Welcome to Long Beach Aviation! We are a West Coast owned float plane operator (Tofino Air) and AMO (Long Beach Aviation) on Vancouver Island, located in Tofino, BC. Tofino Air operates year-round scenic tours and charter services around the beautiful West Coast of British Columbia. Long Beach Aviation is responsible for servicing the fleet of floatplanes for Sunshine Coast Air and Tofino Air, including Cessna 180 and DHC-2 floatplanes and Cessna 182 wheeled plane.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic applicant to join our team as a full-time licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at our airport-based hangar in Tofino, BC.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (M1) certification
Previous aviation experience with fixed winged aircraft on wheels or floats
Knowledge of the following, but not limited to:
  • Aircraft inspection methods
    Sheet metal structure and riveting
    Piston engines
    Electrical systems
    Flight control rigging
    Corrosion assessment
    Paint stripping and painting
Ability to work independently, as well as within a small team environment
Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical ability to perform all listed job duties including but not limited to bending, sitting, standing, gripping and lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
Perform all duties both indoor and outdoor, employees must be able to adapt to all environments and weather conditions
Availability to work various shifts based on operational requirements, which may include weekends and holidays where needed

RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance and servicing, in line with Transport Canada regulations and standards
Conduct repairs, servicing and troubleshooting of aircraft mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with company procedures
Update of aircraft technical records
Parts store receiving and upkeep
Removal and re-installation of aircraft components (engine, flight control, equipment, etc.)
Structural repairs
Paint stripping, grinding corrosion, painting
Maintenance of AMO facilities and harbour bases

This role is offered on a full-time basis of up to an average of up to 40 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate seasonally based on operational requirements.
