GS5 in Legal Trouble?
Ongoing in Canadian Aviation Sector
A court application has been filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (CV-25-0000-2902-0000) against GS5 Corporation and its directors. Access to the documents is available online.
The allegations include:
• $5M in dividends taken from government grant while the company approached insolvency
• Distribution of uncertified, non-compliant AME training materials
• Internal safety warnings ignored
Plaintiffs, all former executives, are seeking a Mareva injunction and a court-ordered audit.
Notably, one defendant is also president of BFC where aircraft identified in the injunction are currently parked.
The matter is before the courts and gaining public interest.
If you're involved in AME training or aviation compliance, this case raises major questions about oversight, accountability, and public trust in our industry.

Re: GS5 in Legal Trouble?
It's an AME online training company.
You need to be very careful about these courses as a starting point. First you need to understand the difference between a Transport Canada “Accepted” training and a Transport Canada “Approved” training. The difference is huge! The CCAA does NOT offer a Transport Canada “Accepted” or “Approved” training. GS5 does have Transport Canada “Acceptance” (as of writing this on 24-09-24) but I suspect Transport Canada is going to revoke it. The GS5 training was NEVER developed. GS5 was contracted by the CCAA to develop training under the GS5 “Acceptance”. This never happened. GS5 provided a new suite of course for the CCAA and none of these course were “Accepted” training by Transport Canada. In short, neither GS5 or the CCAA have a fully developed Transport Canada “Accepted” or “Approved” training course to offer. As for all three (the CCAA, GS5, ICS) the concern for a student would be the need to understand that taking the course means you get NO waiver from writing the Transport Canada exams, NO credit from Transport Canada for reduced hours required in the field to become licensed (this is 48 months for M or E license and 36 months for S license) and NO Transport Canada required Practical Training hours credit as there is no practical component in their training programs. This is what “Accredited” programs result in. The courses offered by aviation maintenance colleges that offer “Approved” training can reduce the time in field to licensing by up to 50%.

Re: GS5 in Legal Trouble?
I got a copy of the court documents, and they name individual defendants and outline the allegations in detail. Honestly, this is shocking stuff.
I had to create an account on the Ontario Superior Court of Justice filing portal (free to register) to access them. Here's the link to create an account and view the file:
https://www.justiceservices.jus.gov.on.ca/
On the upper right side is a link to create an account
Search for case number CV-25-0000-2902-0000.
The documents are serious — reading them feels like a financial thriller. They include allegations of improper use of government grant funds, director self-enrichment, and aviation-related financial transactions.
Would be interested to hear others’ take on this.
(I believe some of the individuals named may have a past connection to Air Canada — can anyone confirm?)

How did you access the documents? I created an account but all it shows me is the plaintiffs names when I search the case#DingDingDing wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 12:38 pm I got a copy of the court documents, and they name individual defendants and outline the allegations in detail. Re: GS5 in Legal Trouble?
that's a common point of confusion with the court portals!
What you're seeing (just the plaintiffs names when you search by case number) is typical for basic public access on many online court systems, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. They usually give you the high-level case information – who's suing whom, dates of filings, general event types – without immediately providing direct downloads of all the actual documents.
To get access to the detailed documents (like the Statement of Claim, Mareva application affidavits, etc.), it often requires a few more steps for non-parties.
Even if you've created a general account, full document access on these digital filing platforms can sometimes be restricted to the parties directly involved in the case (and their legal counsel).
For the general public, the most common way to get copies of specific court documents from an active file is to contact the specific courthouse where the case was filed, and in this case that would be the court house in Milton, Ontario. You'll need the exact court file number and case title. Use the court file number already provided and for the Case Title use the references you already have from what you found in your search.
online portals might only show the basic info by default. Hope that helps clarify!
if you have any further issues getting it post here and I will do my best to assist.

Re: GS5 in Legal Trouble?
If it's public information why don't you just post it?
Re: GS5 in Legal Trouble?
That's a fair question, and the information is indeed publicly accessible through official court channels. However, directly re-posting extensive legal documents on a forum like this can get complicated due to various platform rules and how such actions might be perceived in an ongoing legal matter. It's often best for individuals to access those details directly from official sources to ensure context and compliance. I'm just observing not representing!!
This one is definitely worth the read.

Meh, I'll never make an account. You clearly want to spread this so the honus is on you if you want to tell what happened.

Re: GS5 in Legal Trouble?

Re: GS5 in Legal Trouble?
Your Close but No Cigar!
The Facebook group is Fox News Canada so NOT an official News source by law.
What happened is that Meta (Facebooks parent company) chose to block all news content on Facebook and Instagram for Canadian users. It was Meta's response to Canada's Online News Act (Bill C-18), which became law in June 2023. This law requires large digital platforms like Facebook and Google to negotiate with and pay Canadian news businesses for making their news content available. Rather than pay, Meta decided to simply remove news content from its platforms for Canadians.
The key point here is, the post ISN'T news. It was facts of publicly available information anyone can get online posted in a chat group so there are no legal issues with it.
If I google Darafay Nedeli (the OP) I get a bunch of hits. I'm definitely following this story!!

I'm done with the coy act. Either state your piece or I'm not interested.
