Compression Socks

Post by currysonic »

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the idea of compression socks, and I would like to start a conversation here for present and future users about them.

I'm 34 years old in the airline world, I'm just starting to look into investing in some socks. I don't have issues (yet, but hopefully never) and I exercise very regularly.

For those of you that use it, do you use it as a preventative health device or to alleviate current symptoms? Should someone like myself start using compression socks to prolong good health and being pain free? If you could start your career again would you wear compression socks earlier? Are over the counter/amazon socks good enough?

Thank you for joining the conversation.

I wore them flying a 737 and didn't notice much of a difference, but then again the sectors were relatively short and it was more preventative than for relief. I think if you're a long haul pilot, compression socks are especially a great idea. Long periods of sitting isn't good for blood flow, especially at altitude.
