Smart AMS Inc. provides aircraft MRO services and parts support across Canada and internationally. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about aviation. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will be part of our skilled maintenance team, learning to perform inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on various types of aircrafts under the guidance of experienced and licensed mechanics.

Position: Avionics Apprentice
Location: Mississauga, ON Canada

Term: Full Time

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist licensed mechanics in routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
• Learn to diagnose and repair aircraft systems and components.
• Gain knowledge of safety and compliance regulations
• Follow instructions and procedures from mentors.
• Keep clean and organized work areas.
• Learn to document maintenance and repair work.
• Report on issues affecting the serviceability of aircraft.
• Perform functional tests and adjustments on aircraft systems.
• Participate in engine and APU.
• Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with Company and Transport Canada regulations.
• Perform duties in accordance with our established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, the safety of co-workers.
• Carry out modifications according to service bulletins while respecting industry standards.
• Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
• Perform all other related tasks.

Requirements:

• You have a college or professional training:
• You are flexible with respect to work shifts.
• Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
• Basic understanding of tools and their proper use
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work well in team.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
• Prior mechanical experience preferred but not necessary.
• Legally able to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or on a Work Permit)
