Pay: CA$19.00 – CA$22.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Department: Aircraft Maintenance
Reports to: Director of Maintenance

About the Role
The Ottawa Flying Club is currently accepting applications for a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice. This is an opportunity to join a growing maintenance team supporting a busy and historic flight training unit operating primarily Cessna 150 and 172 aircraft, and to work toward your M1 licence under the guidance of experienced, licensed AMEs.

Qualifications

Enrolled in, or graduate of, a recognized AME diploma/certificate program (or actively working toward licensing hours)
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Interest in piston engine maintenance and general aviation
Ability to obtain and maintain a TCCA Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program (CGP) registration
Ability to obtain and maintain a Level II security clearance
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist licensed AMEs with maintenance activities in accordance with applicable CARs, the MPM, and MCM
Support troubleshooting and repair of aircraft systems including engines, airframes, and flight controls
Log and track apprenticeship hours and tasks toward licensing requirements
Assist with documentation and completion of maintenance records and work sheets
Participate in engine runs, aircraft towing, and ground handling operations
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Assist with shop and ground support equipment maintenance
Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or supervising AME
