cargojet...most worked pilots in canada?
Any truth that this is true? I have heard that they keep leaving and no new training is taking place. Guess they can only work 30 or 31 days a month?

This is completely untrue.arewethereyet wrote:Guess they can only work 30 or 31 days a month?
They can work up to AND including 35 days a month.
It's in the C.A.R.s.

Somewhere near the back......
This is peak season for Cargojet, there's new hire training and upgrade training going on right now and most guys are working around 16 days a month. As per the new peak pay scheme, any scheduled day off worked whether you're scheduled to work 10 days or 35 days
, pays capt's an extra $1300 min per day, f/o's an extra $960 min per day and s/o's an extra $740 min per day. If block time is more than 4 hours, the pay goes up from there. Also any day worked over 18 a month pays a premium for capt's, f/o's and s/o's of $700, $600 and $500 respectively. Per diem has also been increased as of Oct 1. This may not be the job for everyone but from where I see it, it's a pretty good gig and things are only getting better.
As stated already; the working every day thought is not true at all. Sounds more like someone slagging CJT who was turned down for the recent groundschool. However, the 16 day quote is not correct either; some are indeed working alot more, but it's also impossible to have 100 guys working the exact same number of days. Some more, some less, but still working. Not perfect, but whatever. The best group of guys around are working there. Welcome aboard to the new hires; they'll have a riot. That's what counts.
This is why I said "most guys are working around 16 days", some less, some more. Take a look at the Oct sched (I'm assuming you're at CJ), you'll see the range is somewhere around 14-18 days and this is peak.
Anyway, I'm not trying convince anybody of anything, my point was that the company has stepped up, addressed several issues and put into effect a $y$tem that does actually reward pilots for extra work and these are definitely positive developments.
You're absolutely right about the guys here, best of the best...sure helps make the 35 days straight more enjoyable!
