What's Happening at Sunwing?

Post by Waiter »

I just heard Sunwing "cleaned house" on Friday. I'm hearing the VP of maintenance and production manager are gone and the Manager of Inflight was let go as well. I am hearing they are being replaced by some ex-Royal people. Is this all just BS or is there any truth to this? If so is there more changes coming?

I was told those -800's have well over 200 seats in them!(Westjet is at 166). That's GOT to be tight in there!

189 in the -800. The -900 is up to 220 passengers

I thought that would get mixed up! :? ..Sunwing has only Boeing 737-800's. My comment is that Boeing also offers the 737-900 with up to 220 seats!

189 is what Ryanair takes in their -800s.

Thanks Ramp Rat. I was trying to figure out how a question about senior management being fired at Sunwing got mistaken for how many seats are on their aircraft??

I was just curious why these people were fired. I know the VP of maintenance was one of their first hires while trying to start the airline. I just found it odd that he, and the people he brought into the company, were fired in favour of people who definately have a history with Royal Airlines. I guess I have to ask the burning question. Is the close relationship between C. Hunter and M Leblanc, even closer than ever now? Is history about to repeat itself?

I can't help ask these questions in light of Sunwing's summer schedule flying to places like Stephenville, NL and Sydney, NS (former Royal and Jetsgo runs).

Ok to my knowledge there was one person fired. The other quit and there was no change in the inflight dept.
The replacement in the maint department was only at Royal for a short time and was primairly from CanAir.
Lets nip this in the bud right now. Mike the White has nothing to do nor will he have anything to do with SunWing.
Go digging else where.
