Squeegie person etiquette.

Post by Doctor Evil »

Maybe you guys who live in bigger cities can help me out here.I was just driving home from a hockey game in Edmonton and had the pleasure of having a scruffy looking creep come up and start trying to squeegie my windshield at a red light. Are you expected to stop him if you don't want to pay? Is there some unwritten rule about having to pay them if they do the whole windshield? In my case the water he poured on the glass looked like sewer water so I turned on my wipers, got out of my vehicle and told him to #### off. Any input would be great as I am sure we will see a lot more of this activity here in the future.

Tell the guy you are a pilot and can't afford it. He'll understand and perhaps give you a loonie in sympathy.

If you see them coming, eager to "wash" your windshield, usually a little :smt018 shoud do the trick. If need be, a tap on the window to get their attention, followed by same and as a last resort, what you did.

That was my .02$

Just a simple "no thanks" works.

They are only trying to earn a living. Like the rest of us.

What, do you not carry a pistol? One Smith & Wesson salute will generally do it.

When I first saw this thread I thought it was someone looking to earn some extra money while working as an instructor...

When he crosses the front of the car to switch sides mash the gas peddle, i think he will get the point.

Let's kick the tires, and light the fires.... SHIT! FIRE! EMERGENCY CHECKLIST!

Nope, I think you handled it right. They can be a real menace.

I always use the pre-emptive windshield activation as they're meandering over. Handing out Watchtower pamphlets may help too...
