Pro IFR INRAT Course???

Post by Avro87 »

Pro IFR has a 3 day course for preparing students for the INRAT. I'm considering doing the course, but it cost $375!!!! And each day is very, very, very long.....something like 8-11 hours I think. Since it cost so much money, I would like to make sure it's well worth it. Can any of you that have taken the course, or know someone who has, please tell me about it? Thanks very much!

Son, someday you will make a girl very happy, for a short period of time. Then she`ll leave you and be with new men who are ten times better than you could ever hope to be. These men are called pilots.

I did the course maybe 5 years ago, and I felt like I was cheating when I took the exam. It was well worth the money at that time. No idea what it's like now.

I second what happy_flyer said. I took it in August and have been raving to everyone about it since. No other way to put it other than it feels like you're cheating on the real test. Worth every penny and more.

Well worth the $375, the instructors are great, you will come out of it feeling quite confident about writing the exam.

As for the long days, you are in aviation, that shouldn't be anything new to you.

I did the IFR Aerocourse in 99 and it was awesome for preparing fro the exam. However, It felt more like they were teaching you how to pass the exam rather than actually teaching IFR. It did feel a bit like cheating on the exam hehe. I imagine that the Pro IFR version is similar... I'd take it if you have the money, but make sure and do some studying before and maybe even after so that you have a better understanding of it.

Cheers,
PP
