Aviation Doctors's
Hi guys
I had a post here last week trying to find my old avdoc but as it turns out he has passed away. I am now looking for a good guy to see, need to go shortly
I am looking in the Vancouver/ZBB area and would like someone that is easy going and reasonably priced
A moment for Dr Harper always fun to see

the best doc in southern t.o is dr. trevor gilmore in maple (just north of toronto). he's not only a doc, but he's an air canada pilot and just a plain ol cool guy. he's about 100 bucks and he doesn't touch you.
cheers

I want to die like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming in terror like his passengers...
Well while we're on the topic of CAMEs, I'll throw a plug in for Dr. Lower here in Thunder Bay. This guy has to be the coolest doctor in Canada, and those that have done their medical with him can attest to that. When I first heard about him, I thought it was too good to be true. $40 for a medical?? Yes it's true...he's probably the cheapest doc in Canada. Went for my medical yesterday, asked him what the bill came to, he replied "ah it's Christmas soon, don't worry about it" and he refused to take my cash. I've done 3 medicals with him for a total cost of $60 (price has gone down with every medical). Compare that to ~$360 for 3 medicals with Dr. Kuntz in Sault Ste. Marie! There's gonna be a lot of unhappy pilots in YQT when Doc Lower hangs up his stethoscope...let's hope he keeps going for a few years!

Trevor Gilmore @ YKZ is a nice guy. I haven't used him but he always says hi to me when I see him. Enter from the front entrance, hang a right to the end of the hallway, then go left and the first door on your left is the office. He is there Mondays or Wednesdays I believe.

Ah yes, Dr. Lower. What a fine gentleman he is. I can't believe he's still at it! I'm sure he did a medical check on the first guy to fly the Silver Dart!
When I lived in YPL it cost more to drive the truck down to see him than the medical cost, and he was always such a nice person when you got there. The only downer was the ECG machine he used was designed by Edison, and required about 5 min of vigourous sanding with 120 grit emery cloth (on my bare chest
) for the relic to be able to get a reading. I'm not sure if the sanding itself helped or whether it was the cold sweat that one would break into during the process. Did he ever replace that thing?
