Christmas at My House

I could have also named this story "Why Grounded isn't allowed to have tinsel on his tree" So here's how things happen. We set up the tree, decorate it with lots of shiny things, and wait for the 3:30am wake up crash when the cat pulls it over. This is followed shortly after with a 4:30 version of the earlier wake up. Have I mentioned that I don't like cats? This one does provide me with a little entertainment for the holidays when he plays with the tree, knocks the decorations off, and then eats some of them. It's really fun when the tree is being pulled over for the third or forth time and you find a little mound of regurged foil and pine needles to push up between the toes. Really makes me happy. The absolute highlight of the season is when the little pieces of tinsel make their way through his system and hang out of his ass. He runs around like his ass is on fire, I would imagine that would tickle a lot when it drags on the floor. When I can see through the tears, and I get tired of listening to the other half complain about the cat, it's time to remove the foil. This is gross, but can also be fun. I go out to the garage, find my hockey gloves, and proceed to chase the cat around the house. This is usually when the tree gets knocked over again. When I finally catch said tinsel display, one gloved hand holds him down, while the other hand gives the tinsel a tug like I'm starting my lawnmower. It actually sounds like a lawnmower for a couple seconds too! I wonder what the neighbors think. This is why there is no tinsel on my tree this year, and won't be for a long time.
