Who has been a Flight Instructor and a Jumper Dumper/Diver Driver at the same time to build some extra hours and get some free fall time in?
Deffinitly would be awesome to hang out at the DZ on the days off...get some flying in and some free fall time. Great people too.

I spent a couple summers dropping jumpers while i payed at least most of my bills by instructing during the week. Very different experiences and requirements, but i really feel like they are very complimentary for somebody who's building new skill sets.
Allow your instrucing background to make you a better jumper dumper, while at the same time letting your skills from the DZ better your students.
Days at the DZ can be long and busy, but if your working with other good people it's a blast. Some of the most fun i've had to date.

This was my very first jump so I didn't start the Progressive Free Fall Program. Spring best be coming soon so I can start the different levels. Too much fundji wrote:nice vid, did you pass?

I spent the summer of 03 as a skydive pilot in Didsbury, AB. Definitively one of the best summers I ever had.
Got some freefall in, gained some good contacts, and flew a decent airplane (for a skydive operation).
The DZ I worked at is no longer in operation but what I gained has been beneficial.

JUGGS-A waypoint in Idaho too!

jumped before
did two jumps this past summer (IADs) and boy the "scariest" part was the .1 sec after letting go the "WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING!!!" moment
but after the shoot opened it was a lot of fun. Had to jump again.. jump master was hot
My sister freaked out at me saying im supposed to be flying planes not jumping out of them...
I asked the Instructor the age old pilot question and he knew it was coming... "Why would one want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane" and he responded with "because I am giving you a perfectly good parachute"

What you need to know is, how to get what you need to know.
This is not a retreat. Its an advance to the rear.
There are only 10 people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

Yea when it comes to the whole saftey thing its like beating a dead horse on both sides.
Ask the Jump Master..."Jumping is safer than flying"
Ask the Pilot..."Flying is safer than Jumping"
