Buying a DHC2

Post by tesox »

Who do you trust and what should you look for when you want to buy one of these?

What is the best direction to take when starting a business and evaluating the costs of different aircraft to use?

We need help...what airplane do you buy when you want to get a few hunters and fisherman around to lakes within 2 hours of your base...and where do you go to buy that plane?

Thank you all very much for any help!

One really important thing to remember with this AC is the birdcage - the frame around the engine. I don't know how often it needs doing but it is a big expense when it is done. Other things are obviously engine time, total hours etc.
It might pay to look at a reputable broker to find you what you need - to get a couple of fishermen two hours away you could get away with a 185 or even a 180 if they don't have too much equipment.
Hope this helps.
