Re: A/C down in Sask.
From cbc.ca:
A 52-year-old pilot from Ontario was killed and three other people were injured in the crash of a medevac plane at Sandy Bay, Sask., Sunday night.
The twin-engine King Air turboprop plane operated by Transwest Air of Prince Albert, Sask., went down with four people aboard around 8:15 p.m.
The RCMP said the plane crashed off the end of the runway at Sandy Bay in the northeast area of the province.
According to Transwest spokesman Ken Landers, three people had non-life threatening injuries, including the 24-year-old female first officer and two medics — a 44-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman.
There were no patients on board at the time of the crash.
The injured were taken to hospitals in La Ronge and Saskatoon.

Condolences to all involved, my thoughts and prayers with the Captains' family. Hopefully the FO and Medics can find the courage to carry on, despite their loss. No matter what has been said about this company in the past, they are a close knit bunch and will give each other strength in times of need. Sad day for all. God bless.

I hope I am not out of line by joining the group & posting this message but I was working (ATC) the night this happened. I did not work this medevac but I did work the 2nd TW flight that went out to CJY4 after the accident. This crew seemed rather solemn (as to be expected of course) but I found it awkward that I could not say anything to this crew on frequency before 'cutting them loose'. This is my first experience with loss of life in ATC and with it occuring in our airspace it really hit home for me. It was a very long 2-3 hours for all the controllers working our airspace that night while we searched & waited and this has not left my mind since. My thoughts are with all TW pilots at such a sad time and most definitely all of those who have been directly affected.
My thoughts and prayer go out to all those affected by this loss, but especially to those involved.
I used to fly in that area, and if somone could PM who the FO is, I would be most greatfull.
Again, my prayers are with the families and friends.

ATC Girl and TW people, an accident like this can effect people in a very profound way. When it happens close to home or where you work it cuts especially deep. I did not know the crew personally, but I feel a connection to their tragedy having flown in that area, and having a couple of years of medevac experience, most of it going into poorly equipped airports in the middle of the night.
We're all family in this business despite all the whining and arguing here. I feel the loss and feel sadness for everyone involved as you do. Take care all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased. I also got my start up in Northern Saskatchewan and witnessed how an accident rocks a company and everyone who works there. Godspeed to the survivors, and hang in there all the rest of you Transwesters.

A07C0001: Transwest Air 350, a Beech A100 King Air, was on a medevac flight from La Ronge, SK, to Sandy Bay. The flight was cleared out of controlled airspace for a descent and an approach at Sandy Bay, but did not arrive at the airport. A search was commenced and the aircraft was located one mile from the airport. One fatality and three serious injuries were reported. The aircraft sustained substantial damage
