chief pilot exam

Post by givealittleheadtogetahead »

Well I have to write a chief pilot exam. Started looking at the study guide and I have no clue what I need to know, or even what the questions will be like. Any info would be great on a really short time line.

The questions are identical to those in the study guide. I think they pick 60 of the 100 in the guide. Very easy exam.

It's all about the Ops Manual. Know things like duty times, time free from duty, accident/incident procedures ect. Aside from doing the practice questions, the next best thing you can do is read your ops man over a couple of times.

Chief Pilot = Know your Ops Manual inside out & backwards
PRM = Know your MCM inside out & backwards.

That's about it. The exams for each are a piece of cake.

Check out TC's website. They've got a bunch of sample questions there. I don't know if this is the same study guide heropsycho refers to or not. The references to the various CARS are there too for each question.

I wrote all three of the T.C. exams. Including the P.R.M. My advice to you is that if you study and can answer every single question in the Chief Pilot study guide you will ace the test. If one the other hand you choose not to put in the effort and try to scrape by thinking you know the answers, odds are you will fail by 2%. Funny how they have the exams rigged like that. I agree that the test is very easy, but I attribute that to knowing every single answer.

Do your homework and don't embarrass yourself by failing a simple test.

Did it for a 703. Piece of cake. I also had to write the company manual, and have an interview with TC. :D

Question:

Besides being a target to go after if something goes wrong, will you have any real power to do anything except be a fall guy?

(A) yes.

(B) No.

If you answered A you are dumb enough to qualify.
