Assuming this isn't some kind of joke, you could try to "study better".Shady McSly wrote:Gotta write the SAMRA Monday but haven't studied too well - how do I pass that shit?!?!?!?!?

you get extra points if you donkey punch the monitor but this only works once (actually this may just be for the SARON, unconfirmed with the SAMRA who may like it differently) and if you can't finish in time lay a hot karl/cleveland steamer on the keyboard and you get an extra half hr on the clock. bonne chance, looking forward to hearing ya in the flight levels!V1 Rotate wrote:

For all you unfortunates who think passing those exams will make you a pilot here is a question.
I wouldn't be able to pass any of them.
But I can flight plan and fly aircraft all over the world and deal with all the bureaucratic B.S. in any country on earth and get the job done without bending metal.
Remember I can't pass these exams, but after passing then can you do what I can?

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

No one can pass them without preparing for them. I can't, you can't, . Yeager can't, Neil Armstrong can't, Merlin Preuss can't. That has nothing to do with your experience or capabilities though and isn't really what the point is. You need to pass the test to get the licence, and if you have to take the test you should prepare for it.

Tomorrow: "Why is the pay so shitty in this business? Why can't pilots get ahead? Why isn't there more respect for a pilot's training and education?"

V1 Rotate, you missed the intent of what I was saying." ... you mean spout off arrogant, self aggrandising, rhetoric? No, I think I'll pass... "
The exams are only a hoop you have to jump through, study the material and write the things, but bear in mind just because you get a high mark on these exams it will not have much real bearing on your ability to fly an airplane and make sound decisions.
If that is arrogant and self aggrandizing rhetoric so be it.
I stand by what I said, I would fail these exams but it does not prevent me from flying airplanes for a living.
Oh, I almost forgot, I must have wrote a few of these exams some time in the past so how come I can't remember most of what is in these exams if it is so important?

We must all agree here with both sides of the story, Cat makes a point, you can pass written exams with a 100% mark but cant fly worth a shit, passing it doesnt make you a better hands on pilot.
But we must also agree that if your lined up to write an exam, at least study a little and try to learn something instead of just trying to find the exact answers on the exam.

Cat Driver,
It is obvious that they are just hoops to jump through, but necessary nonetheless. I am sure that one can both pass the exams and even fly an airplane without wrapping it up in a ball. In a lot of your posts you slam a lot of things, and in the end offer no solutions.
