YLW Incident
Rumour has Westjet and Jazz aircraft involved in a fender bender this morning at YLW. Any fact to that?

Departing CYLW last night as we were taxing for Rwy 16 Westjet was just about to do the same. Westjet's wing tip scrapped the left tip of the horizontal stabilizer on the R.J. and knocked off the static wick and obviously damaged the tip. I am told Westjet was able to depart later however when I returned to CYLW this morning the R.J was on Kelowna Flightcraft's ramp being repaired. Could of been much worse.
Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don't turn up at all.

Yeah, one day when I was workin on the ramp in YLW, the capt of the A319 we were handling refused to turn because a 737 was on the next gate. I told him no no problem, we'd wait. Took about a 15 minute delay. Afterwards, I passed this info along to the airport authority and was met with arrogance. The guy seemed appalled that a captain and ramp agent had concerns with how close the gates are.Does anyone here think that the YLW ramp is a little on the tight side. Some times I think I should bring some KY to squeeze out of there.

"Shit," ALWAYS has a reason for happening, some reasons are more acceptable than others, but there is always a reason.

You know, the attitude displayed when issues are raised sometimes worries me. I always breathe a sigh of relief when I exit that ramp because of how tight it is and obviously the 319 skipper agrees with me.Yeah, one day when I was workin on the ramp in YLW, the capt of the A319 we were handling refused to turn because a 737 was on the next gate. Good on ya' for bringing it to the attention of the airport authority. Hopefully this incident makes 'em eat crow.
