avcanada weight loss challenge

Post by Pilot_adam »

So as I am planing to start a career in aviation and becoming an airline pilot one day, I have decided to take my health seriously and start something positive ..

Right now I am at my heaviest ever (5'9" , 250 Pounds), I want to make this more exciting for those who want to lose weight, so join me and Lets start a weight loss challenge here on avcanada and inspire each others for better and healthier us.

Over the next few months (4-5 months) I am planing to get down to 200 pounds being my realistic goal (20% of my body weight).

2 years ago I lost 30 pounds just by watching what I ate and exercising ( from 220-190), so now I will do the same !!!

Who is in on that !!!

Cheers
Adam

Lost 55 pounds. Watch what you eat and hit that cardio machine when sitting in motels. I reduced my intake to 2200 cals a day. Doesn't seem like much but if you count your calories and change your foods you will be full by the end of the day. By buring 600-800 calories a day on the cardio equipment, the reduced calories and the cardio sure burn a lot of fat off. AND STAY AWAY FROM TIMMY HO's MUFFINS! Those things are packed with calories. I used a program on my palmpilot to keep track of the calories and it makes a huge difference by being concious of what you eat. But I am sorry to say I laid off the beer a lot. Dropped that to about 4 beer a month on average. Took me about 10 months to lose it all but was worth it. I have tonnes more energy now but none of my clothes fit. So the most expensive thing about it all is having to get new clothes. Glad we had a pretty good uniform allowance. Don't even stap on the scale for the first 4 weeks. Ignore it all together. If you do lose weight your clothes will tell. It took at least 3 weeks for me to start noticing anything so if you are the type to step on the scale every hour you may get disappointed for the first month so thats why I say to ignore it. Anyways, good luck to you all and keep focused. You will do great!

If you do have to eat at Tim's and need your sugar fix, try a Boston Cream, or Strawberry filled donut - lowest calories and fat on the menu:

Holy fatties on Avcanada... 6'1 215 lbs... looking to be 6'3 at 195lbs...

I think loosing the 20lbs will be easy... but I quit growing taller many years ago.

There should be a premium pay rate for people who can fit in and instruct on buck fiftys! After reading this post I think that would be the specialized flight training that Cat keeps mentioning.

Good luck to you all. I'll take all my laundry off the elliptical machine and start using it for its intended purpose.

Steve...you loose 15 lbs every time you hit the crapper!

I'm 5'7", could stand to be 15 lbs less....but will my ass look as good in my leather mini? We must consider these things.

I'm thinking that most if not all of you aren't actually pilots. If you really were pilots, how could you afford enough food to get fat. KD doesn't have that many calories.

Sincerely,

A poor skinny underpaid pilot

6"4 200 But the spring time I would like to be 190. But the main thing is feeling better and back in shape. New job = More time off. Instructing made me gain 20 pounds. So now I have to lose it.
