Shrak, for a 3 post person you really could try and be a bit more constructive. Joe works long and hard to keep this sight running for all of us. So here is some constructive critisim:
1. Use the correct forum... AvCanada suggestions
2. Be constructive, why do you not like it, what would you do to improve it.

Does not help anyone at all!

I would second that vote but maybe with a bit of a twist
could we keep it the same as before but maybe under free job ads have it broken down in to Pilot, Helli, Ame, Ground and ??? this way you may still get the effect you wanted by portioning it off but the users can still see whats being offered. the info is spread out over to many pages the old way was perfect
just me thinking out loud

I am considering a move of the job section back to the free job forum based on the feedback I have received over the last couple of days.
I have another idea with the original free job forum that I think will work well for employers.
The aircraft ads, resumes, and misc. classifieds will remain in the new area.

The orignal free job forum is back up and running again. I am now allowing any registered user the ability to post jobs on AvCanada.
See http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?t=27401 for more info.
Why the new posting format?
The main problems are on my end with spam, and time required to keep the free job forum updated. With the growth AvCanada has undertaken this year I am having a real hard time processing the number of ads being submitted in a resonable amount of time. This new idea will hopefully fix both of these issues. All ads will become live immediately and the user will have complete control over their own ad be it a small edit or the ability to delete their own ad once it has been filled.
Posts that are not aviation job ads will be removed by the admin or mods ASAP if they happen to appear. Any user who posts spam in this forum will be banned. This will prevent spam from being a common issue.
My orignal hope was for the new classified script to replace this area. The feedback I received the last couple of days has shown me that the users on AvCanada are happy with the original free job forum so I brought it back with this small change.
If you have any suggestion or ideas on how to improve the free job forum please send me an email.

I am now allowing two options for ad placement.
Option #1. Requires no registration or login to post a job ad. Employers will only be required to fill in the original job ad form and select submit.
Option #2. Allows any user who is registered and logged in to post a job ad.

I'll take job ads with no wages listed vs No Job ads at all... Obviously, it would be nice... But if you really really want the figure, now that users will be posting, email the poster and ask....eep...2 Green wrote:what happened to my poll about including salary information? it was starting to look pretty clear what people want and generate good input from both sides.

I think that now that there are so many jobs being posted every day, we need to have flying and non flying jobs on separate forums.
A job is posted and within a week it's not even on page 1 anymore. Some jobs are getting posted 2 and 3 times just to keep them up for the allotted time before the competition closes.
Otherwise great work Joe, I haven't seen an ad for viagra or porn at all lately.

and if they didn't want 3000TT and 1500 MPIC to fly 208s or pc-12s as a co-jo it would be okay....co-joe wrote:A job is posted and within a week it's not even on page 1 anymore. Some jobs are getting posted 2 and 3 times just to keep them up for the allotted time before the competition closes..
