Great company,
look in Employment forum, thread West Wind.... That should give you the info you need. Or just search up west wind.
It all depends on your experience. Either way, great company and lots of work for the pilots.

What is the latest news regarding hiring, compensation, work environment and aircraft at West Wind Aviation? Other companies have been advertising for pilots and AMEs but this company seems to be keeping a low profile.
Does West Wind have an adequate supply of pilots or is it starting to feel the shortage that is affecting other operators? If it is finding experienced pilots in short supply then is there any news of pay rises in the near future? It has always had a good reputation apart from the pay level. Other operators have increased their pay scales recently (eg North Cariboo Air) so is there any market pressure on West Wind to follow suit? Cost of living, particularly housing, seems to have increased in Saskatoon last year.
Did West Wind get any additional aircraft last year? Are additional aircraft or routes planned for this year?
What sort of schedule or rotation is available for pilots? Are they all based in Saskatoon?
Thanks for any gen.

Pilots are based in Saskatoon or Regina. Most work is weekdays home every night. 3 aircraft added in 2007 inc. 1900 and ATR42. More equipment coming for 2008. Great schedule, good equipment and maintenance.
Good people to work with. Probably the best charter flying operation in a civilized community you will find.
Good luck

Cameco's Q1 2008 makes $133,000,000.... wonder if the extra $$ will trickle down to the pilots?

Here's an Idea. Have you Managers go sit down with Cameco and show them the cost of living increases over the last few years and compare your low wages to other king air ops in western Canada and tell them its high time for a big price adjustment in your charter rates... If they don't pay up thats quite sad seeing how well they have been doing for quite some time. Pretty hard for new Staff to move to YXE/YQR and buy/rent a place on the salaries they are paying.
