Hi all,
been looking around online and at avcanada for info on Porter's pay rates without any luck so far. I hear it is a great place to work, but can anyone shed more light on them as an airline and also on the benefits point of view...
Looking for mainly FO rates but if the Captain rates are also posted that would be great ( everybody upgrades someday

)
Thanks

good place to work... awsome machines. But anything that spawns from the Toronto City Centre Airport has a shelf life unless they build that bridge, which they never will. Go to jazz or wait for mainline or WJ

Is there any reason this is in the Air Canada/Jazz section?

BCFlyer .... one sec ....
Jazz -- Jazz -- Jazz -- Jazz -- Jazz -- Jazz -- Jazz -- Jazz -- Jazz -- Jazz --
Air Canada -- Air Canada -- Air Canada -- Air Canada -- Air Canada --
There you go ... now there is a reason ... haha ... but to honestly answer that question ..... no .....

Cappys make 72K to start PLUS profit sharing. FOs get the sharing too. The sharing is yet to be determined. Yes it is a great place to work.
As to what this is doing in the AC/JAZZ forum, well, we are all friends right?

WJ gets away with espionage. Porter kicks us out of the Island. But we are all pilots. So I guess you're right.

...I wonder how we'd fare if we asked for gates at T1?
I have to chuckle when AC complains about Porter having a 'monopoly' at the island... people have short memories in this industry.

T1? Why would you want to come to t1? What advantage would that give you? I'm curious. Can you afford it?
Not complaining about Porter having a monopoly. It doesn't hurt AC in the least. Just commenting on how they whent about getting there. It hurts to play with the big boys, eh?

It was a hypothetical question to illustrate the point.

It sure does when the big boys play dirty as has been demonstrated time and time again.
But what the hey eh? We are all just pilots trying to make it in a big bad world!
Cheers & Happy St. Patty's Day!

Since this this an AC/Jazz forum I guess I can respond to what a few of you have said in regard to the original post.
AC (Jazz) had the opportunity to have a long term lease at the island but they chose not to take it. Deluce came in took over the lease and asked AC to leave. Or so I heard.
Deluce(s) sold their airline interests to AC years ago (which eventually became a part of Air Ontario now Jazz).
AC offered Air Ontario to the Pappalardos (of which AC was to have 51% interest). You know what eventually happened to City Express once Air Ontario moved in.
Now if i am wrong about any of these statements please correct me.
And you know what ? Porter might hurt Jazz. Only time and the economy will tell.
The lure of the big jets will always be there. The lure of AC will always be there. But you have to start somewhere don't you?

Yikes. There's a few things missing in that story. I'm not touching it though.

Isn't it obvious? The reason why it's in the Jazz/ AC section is because It will all end up being Jazz anyway

That'll be fun. Judging by the sunny and magnanimous dispositions of many of the posters here, I'm sure it'll be a happy place.
Cheers, I think I'll shift back to a less partisan forum now... where this thread should have been the whole time.
