Have just done a search and have been reading through all the posts pertaining to the INRAT. Lots of good info in there.

I have signed up for Aerocourse and have been doing some initial studying for the INRAT. I am now working my way through the Aerocourse workbook...Admittedly, I have been getting quite a lot wrong. However, if I go through the questions in there is that a good method for preparing? What I mean is that I am NOT just learning the answer to a specific question BUT am using the questions to guide my research. What I am doing is going to the reference listed for each question and reading up on it. If I do this will I be prepared enough to take the course and write?

I guess what I'm getting at is...If I go through the questions in that book and read the references for each question, does it cover enough material and give me enough of a review to be able to pass the exam?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Read the COM, MET and RAC section of the AIM, memorize the CAP Gen then go about doing the questions.

In the AIM read about the GPS.... I just recently had a student do his INRAT and he said he had 8 questions on the GPS.... RAIM and stand alone and overlay approaches

Heard the same from a recent student, that he had several GPS questions on his inrat.

I took my INRAT back in, uh July of '06 I think it was, and there were no less than 9 GPS-related questions on it. That's almost 20% of the test devoted to GPS, so definately do not neglect it.

Talking about GPS ... If you can, get your hands on a copy of the Canadian ATPL Workbook from Aerocourse, they have approx 12 questions on GPS in their Radio Aids / Flightt Planning Section. If not PM, and i can send them via email.


And for the INRAT Study , obviously the AIM, CAP GEN, Instrument Workbook from Aerocourse.
