She’s built like a Steakhouse, but she handles like a Bistro.

India has a major shortage of pilots, and no good flight schools there, so Indians are looking elsewhere for flight training. Many schools seem to be specially advertising towards attracting the Indian students these days. At least that is what I've noticed on a few ftu websites.

Well, besides the fact that the average Indian student will be on the right seat of a Boeing 737, ATR, Airbus A320 or CRJ with somewhere around 300 hours (not the typical career profile in Canada) can have a small factor to play with it.
Consider that from standing in India, Canada is more than a stone's throw away and picking a good aviation school is a bit daunting when you can't just jump into the Nissan and head over to the local airport with a chat with the instructors. Visa issues are also an issue. The US schools have traditionally had a leg-up here on ab-initio training for foreign students-- well organized but in the last few years many foreign students are weary of travel to the United States.
Also, ever notice that in places like Florida or Mexico that try to attact certain tourists they will do little things to make folks feel "at home" like offering an English menu with selections like hamburgers and french-fries, maybe a little Canadian flag or even a rainbow sticker on the window, or a sign saying "Wir sprechen Deutsch"?
