A west coast chief was gloating one day that he did not have to pay taxes and got cheap gas because of his status card .His smile disappeared when i told him that the people who got tatoo's on their left arms' in Germany in the thirties felt special until they were put on trains.Being identified by your race is never a good thing even if you get free housing and never have to work for a living in your entire life.

Those Mohawk warriors who killed that police officer are not so proud today now that the military considers them the same as terrorists.Murdering a police man trying to keep the peace between people and then not fessing up to up says alot about what kind of warriors they have become.

"Warrior"...an interesting term used to describe persons who wear masks and murder Police. I think "Maggot" would be a more apt term? Oh, was that not PC? BooHoo.

I wonder what Joseph Brant would make of these "Modern Mohawks"
Killing those that are sent to protect them.

Why would you move someone from their traditional lands ???Or do they just want closer to the diamond mines to cause more trouble ???

Brant is the reason there are so many land claims around the Six Nations. He sold/traded away (for personal gain, of course) most of the native land without the knowledge or approval from the band.

I'm sure that is the reason the Six Nations have their land claim

I don't think people in the West Coast should be taking sides, and trying to post crap about another issue.

Yes, because people on the west coast have no right to have any input into where Federal money goes...

2R, the People of Kash wanted the Gov to move the entire town because it keeps getting flooded. The feds said that it would cost too much, so they're not going to do it. Basically, if you don't like living there, move somewhere else.

I'm sure that is the reason the Six Nations have their land claim Rolling Eyes
I was raised along the shores of the Grand. I played hockey, went to school, and maintained friendships with people from the Six Nations. Brant is no hero among the native people.

Roll your eyes if it makes you feel good. Do you have anything constructive to offer to this discussion?

Does anyone know why the dykes that were built to protect the Kash Reserve were destroyed and who destroyed them ???Can the dykes be rebuilt ???

The people from Kash came originally from the Fort Albany Reserve on the other side of the river .Why not move back there ???It is higher ground Extending the Fort Albany infrastructure might be more cost effective than the plans to move the reserve closer to the Diamond Mine.

Does that mean they would be against putting Joseph Brant on the new five dollar coin ???

When I drove past the fiasco in caledonia last summer and saw the guys dressed in battle dress reprsenting their nation I figured the other Canadians should send their guys dressed in battle uniform to got to war for their nation.

But first advise them that the war starts at noon the following day, and if they want to fight just be there at noon on the following day.

Part of the problem is who is in charge there ???
Who speaks for the Mohawks ???Which Chief is Chief and does the Chief have any authority to sign a deal???Heredity or Elected ???

Although the Mohawks can probably say the same .Who speaks for the non-natives ???
Which Minister can speak for the non-natives ???Provincial Or Federal ???
And do the ministers have the authority to sign a deal ???

At least they have stopped the building until they can get all sides at the same table.

Seems like the government is very slow at making deals when something happens to Canadians by the Canadian government. Only when something happens to Canadians by a foreign government, will they act, like they did with the evacuees at Lebanon, or with Maher Arar.
However, we read there is compensation announced for the homeowners so good for them. They are actually lucky to get that . I heard about a couple in BC who aren't so lucky because they have been ordered to remove a wall in their property (at their own expense) because it is near a US/Canada boundry and it violates a treaty. The authorities said they had a duty to find out about the land when they bought it.

Sadly the Warriors would not last very long against Real Soldiers.
It would be a horrible sight as you know the swift slaughter would be shown live on CNN.
