Any other info? Are they a good company to work for? Good pay? Good schedule? Not sure if I should throw one in!

New start up company with one leased DHC2 in Vic Harbour.

Owner is a good young guy and also owns 3 other air services in Canada including Bakers. I just said "no thank you" to an offer to run one of his bases. Good operation from what im told and he seems to have a good vision for the business future. The team he has assembled is top notch and his overall operation impressed me. Had I not already commited to a position this season, I would be working for this gentleman right now.

I believe this will be the 1st season for Howe Sound Seaplane and I wish them well. The pay seemed decent and you could do alot worse then being based in Vic all summer ;) Id say its a good gig for a decent operator (based on knowledge of his air service in MB) and you should throw your hat in the ring.

Good luck and fly safe as always

Looks like they packed their bags and are going to try and compete with the big boys in Yellowknife.

I was told they owe alot of money to the fuel company and to the other operators.I hear Split Lake kicked them out as well. They were getting stuck paying the maint. bill as well as paying full rate for the flying. To me it sounds like they get run off everywhere they try operateing.

Beware of the Yellowknife 206 job, the person you would be working under is a scam artist and will push you to do what he wants untill you do it or quit. If you have a backbone and quit I gurantee he will come after you for the bond you will sign.

Stay away.... Far away. With the way they run biz I dont know how much longer they will stay in the game. They piss everyone off and cut corners that could get you killed. Its true they have been kicked out of split, they are even trying to sue split. They are all about the quick buck and have no fore sight, they act all nice to get you in the door and then take full advantage of you. Good luck to anyone who goes there and buys them selfs a job.

Actually I was approached by the owner a few months ago with the possibility of doing some part time fill in flying.

It is highly unlikely I would actually do any part time flying for anyone unless I knew them and they were really stuck for a pilot.

If I were really interested in working ( which I am not ) there are lots of good paying overseas jobs to be had.

I have just turned down a fairly high paying job overseas for the simple reason I do not want to lose the summer sailing on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

I very much doubt that I will bother with flying for anyone from now on as retirement is so much more fun....well there are two jobs that I am committed to..one in South Africa for about a month and I'll fly for the movie industry in a heart beat due to the fun factor of the job and the serious cash I can make. The last I heard the movie about the Berlin Airlift is still in the works and I will fly in that one when it starts.
