Need Advice ???Please help
Would you be kind enough to give your input. Would really appreciate your help.
I am 39 years old, have not flown since last 10 years, have experience from Mig-17 and Mig-19, planning to get my ATPL in Canada (I am Canadian Citizen), where do I stand in the industry with my age and experience and the gap in the flying. What kind of jobs I may get.
Total Time: 1500
PIC Multi jets- 871
Multi-Engine Jets– 1104 hours
Pilot in Command – 1159 hours
Single Engine Jet – 60 hours
Piston Engine – 331 hours

You're likley in pretty good shape. 500 Multi/PIC seems to be a stumbling block for a lot of folks. You already have that. You may have to take a less than ideal job to "get back into the game" but I think your odds are decent.
Some of this depends on what you were doing during your 10 year absence (employers hate myteries). Aslo how current you are now. Right now if you're current, you have 500 MPIC and you're not too determined to get the perfect job right away, there are lots of opportunities.

I find the comments very interesting to read because I'm somewhat in the same situation.
1700 hrs, 900 multi-pic, some turbine time, current multi-ifr with Seneca ppc, cat 1 medical, aviation degree, atpl exams written and looking for a pilot job.
Currently working at Nav Can. Last full-time flying job was two and a half years ago but flew part-time on Senecas and Navajos until last summer while working full-time at Nav.
Targeted some companies and made contacts with them. The goal is to be first officer on a twin turbine and go from there. Looking good so far. We'll see.
Some people call me crazy... crazy about airplanes I am indeed.

frank9757 and Zatopec,
Im in the same boat with boat of you...minus the jet time..and am captain on a twin turbine. There is work out there available for the both of you. Just be persistant if you really want it. Most companies are hiring right now...try Bearskin, Transwest, Northern Thunderbird, Westwind just to name a few. Good luck.
