They are short cash? New pilots always bring large sums of money to the interviews with which to buy the new jobs!

Yeah, what's with the same pay for every airplane? I guess it makes things easy for payroll. Just make up a whole bunch of $2115 cheques and fill in the names.

Voyageur, Yes or No?

Post by JRB »

Is pursuing the overseas thing with Voyageur worth it? BS aside, sounds like an awesome opportunity to see the world. What are the chances of getting shot at?

GIVE UP! all of you! if you have a question about this company, use the search feature! stop starting new threads. we all know they suck, we all know they don't have pilots, we all know that the ame's are quiting faster than they can hire them. so for the love of all that is good, give up.

flyusmidwest wrote:They are full of BS , I am Canadian flying for a US commuter on thr CRJ-200, I met them for an interview in yyz for an Africa Job I am type rated and fly the line to think I would leave the US to fly for banana republic
fly by night airline!!!!!!!
It sounded good over the phone ,I interviwed with dufus 1,2 and 3
none of them had a CRJ type rating were clueless of the aircraft

They started bad mouthing the maintenance in the US well I have never seen so many beat up crappy looking planes as in Canada take a look at the US .
From my experience if you have to pay your own way to an interview not WORTH IT.
In the US companys always give you a pass to travel for the interview.
Us is running low on pilots many commuters are hiring with 500tt and 50 multi on the Saab 340 and Dash -8 the money might not be great but at least you will fly 121 705 in Canada.
Some uS companies are accepting foreign resumes give it a shot!!!!!!
I did some major avionics upgrade on Dash8 aircrafts and CRJ-200 that used to be operated by Alegheney(US AIR) for the former and United EXpress for the latter.....and I can confirm that those aircrafts were poorly maintained and some installs were performed in accordance with Banana republic airworthiness standards.

Heard the latest is that they are having such a hard time finding pilots that there is a danger of them becoming a sinking ship.

55k is the base rate for flying in canada - overseas is significantly more, and for some locations you can qualify as non-Cdn resident and get back about 80% of the taxes you pay on the first 100k

Tax advantages or not - they are not salary. You cannot turn a low salary into gold no matter how you mess with the numbers.

Look at the jobs forum, $8000 US per month for a lousy Air Tractor IP.

O O Oh Can I tell them???
Can I ? :?

Ya think that management wouldn't see so fraq'n red if there was NO THRUTH to these internet rumors???

And now Afghanistan... a Dash-7 climbin in the full heat at altitude... couldn't outclimb a firefly with a strap-on firecracker.

VAL in Afghanistan

Do you know why they (said customer) are choosing the Dash 7? If not then maybe you should figure things out before you post your opinion!! I am pretty sure VAL is not in the buisness of having there airplanes blown out of the sky!

Alright I'll bite. I suppose the UN chose the Dash 7 for the same reason the US military did. Over wing exhaust so low heat signature. Also quiet so the bad guys don't hear you cruising up there and won't be taking potshots.
The only trouble is we are talking about the Taliban here boys and girls. These guys don't generally have sophisticated heat seeking missiles. They got grenade launchers and rocks. I would think that the Dash 7 would be as good a target as an elephant lumbering by. Have you seen one of those climb? The 7, not the elephant. Might get off the ground quick but climbing is an entirely different matter altogether. Think slow motion. Even grandma with a sling might be able to ping a rock at it.
Also "Gards", nobody I'm sure is in the business of having their (not there) airplanes blown out of the sky. Some just get too greedy to see clearly past the $$$.
